Flowers

This painting began with flowers from my garden in Oxford — small, living things that were just there, close to me, carrying colour, memory, and something very personal.

It is also an homage to my great-grandmother, Stefani Pałacha, maiden name Balmas, and to her paintings. I think of it as a quiet conversation with her, across time — not trying to copy, but to remember, to feel, and to continue something that maybe was already somewhere in the family before I even understood it.

For me, this work feels like the beginning of a new series. Something domestic, emotional, inherited, and still unfolding.
